Rosen Building

The Rosen Building houses several faculty from the departments of Microbiology and Bioengineering working on various aspects of problems in computational biology, including population dynamics, microarray analyses, phylogenetics, modelling protein structure, function, and evolution, and understanding various cell systems.

Situated just south of Lake Union, at the intersection of Republican (960) and Terry, the building offers great views of Seattle and is equipped with state of the art computing and experimental facilities, including large high-performance Linux clusters, and is also the home of the Center for Exppression Arrays.

The building is in close proximity to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Centre and the Seattle Biomedical Research Institute, and about ten minutes from the main University of Washington campus.

Each floor in the building has one or more common areas, one or more conference rooms, and an assortment of printers, photocopiers and FAX machines. The offices and common areas are elegantly designed with plenty of room.

Samudrala group

Our group occupies about 1600 square feet, with sixteen work areas and one PI office. Each work area is spacious, and each member is supplied with their own workstation and a laptop. Two of the rooms (housing six cubicles) have views of the Seattle center and two others (two cubicles and one PI office) have views of Capitol Hill.
